Sustainability Aware is a series of educational apps made to inform and engage kids about our environment and our impacts on the Earth. In Animals Under Threat, we look at how climate change is threatening species around the world.

In this app we’ll learn about:
• adaptation and how animal species cope with problems like environmental change
• climate change and global warming
• animal extinction
• the fragility of Earth’s ecosystems
• the ramifications of species extinction for the planet and why we should care.

Then we’ll dive into looking at certain animal species and how they are being affected by climate change. We’ll cover animals including:

• “beasts of the wild” (like tigers, gorillas and elephants)

Reading level: Approximately 8–10 years old, Australian middle to upper primary school level. Suitable for guided reading and classroom use.
